Woodworking Precision Double Square for DIYers
These handy double squares, manufactured in accordance with EEC Class 1 accuracy standards, are guaranteed to be square to within 0.002 (two thousandths of an inch) over the length of each blade, making them indispensable for setting up machinery and performing a host of shop layout tasks.
The blades are made of hardened and tempered no-glare satin chrome stainless steel, with precision photo-etched markings that are black-filled for easy readability. The blades feature quick-reading graduation markings with 1/8th and 1/16th increments on both sides.
Traditionally, woodworkers have used 4R, or 1/8ths and 1/16ths on one side and 1/32nds and 1/64ths on the reverse. However, most woodworkers find the finer 1/32nd and 1/64th markings to be hard to read, too precise for most tasks, and confusing. As a result, these squares have been designed with the most commonly used 1/8th and 1/16th graduation marks on both sides.
The square heads are cast and then precision-machined, with a locking knob that allows them to lock down tight. The squares are available in either a 4" or 6" blade length and come in a cardboard box. Replacement screws are also available.
